F9 collective hosted it's very first official meet up on the 8th of July in Bengaluru!

For those who don't know, F9 is a Motion graphics community based in India. We have a Slack workspace where people can connect, and we host monthly virtual meet-up sessions called Toggle. We also bring guests on board for these toggle sessions to talk about all things motion graphics.

The History

The Indian Motion Graphics community is vibrant and full of talent, but for some reason, visibility is low. Vishal and Ameen, the founders of the community first met at a cafe where they were working together and were just casually discussing the idea of starting a community. And when Vishal was invited to SOM's online international meet by Kyle Hamrick, Kyle suggested that he talk about the Mograph community in India and that was a big for push to start the Slack community.

Mo people, Mo fun!

The group is called F9 because they wanted to "easy-ease" (geddit?) the process of finding support, inspiration, and peers to get connected with.

The group has grown over the years and now there are more than 300 people in the community. There are 2 new admins now, Rishabh and Kruthi and we hosted our first meet-up. We made an animation for the meet-up and we even got some stickers and badges to give out as goodies.

What’s Next?

The meet was SO much fun. When we were first discussing the meet-up, we didn't think many people would show up because it was such a last minute decision. We thought may be 5 - 10 people might show up lol. But we had over 30 people and some of them travelled to Bengaluru just for the meet-up WHAT.

The event was such a success that it motivated us to start planning for more and bigger meet-ups. We've only begun and we CAN’T wait do more!

P.S: the animated version of the stickers are available on giphy, you can find them by searching for "f9 collective"
